The EV Task Force is a committee set up by the Tamil Nadu government to boost the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry in the state. Its goal is to encourage the use of EVs, attract investments, create jobs, and make Tamil Nadu a global leader in EV manufacturing and exports.
It involves creating a strategy and roadmap that addresses land, human resources, capital, policy support, power supply, marketing, and incentives for early adopters. The Task Force works on developing and executing the EV sector strategy, exploring sustainability opportunities, and forming partnerships with investors and stakeholders to support early adopters in the EV ecosystem.
The Task Force consists of a diverse team, including the Chairman and Co-Chairman (Industries and MSME Secretaries), the Convenor (General Manager of FaMe-TN), and Mr. Thiru Srinivasan as the Task Force Lead.
