RAMP Programme

Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) is a nationwide initiative that supports Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in building strength and resilience. Supported by the World Bank and led by the Government of India, the programme helps MSMEs grow in scale, adopt modern practices, and compete globally. In Tamil Nadu, where MSMEs form the backbone of the economy, RAMP takes on a special importance.

This aligns with the state’s long tradition of equitable entrepreneurship and its vision of creating sustainable, future-ready businesses to realise the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu’s goal of a US$1 trillion economy.

Objectives of the RAMP Programme

The programme sets out to transform MSMEs by
  • Facilitating better access to domestic and international markets.
  • Creating stronger governance and coordination at state and national levels.
  • Improving access to finance and receivables for smoother cash flows.
  • Encouraging green and sustainable business models.
  • Building a culture of quality and efficiency through ZED and LEAN schemes.
  • Promoting inclusion so that women, artisans, and marginalised groups are active participants in growth.
  • These objectives are not just targets on paper but stepping stones to make Tamil Nadu’s MSMEs global leaders.
